The students spent Friday morning learning about the significance of Deepavali or Diwali. Ms Devi - TA for Grade 4 presented an informative presentation about why Hindu people celebrate Diwali and the festivities that accompany this celebration. The students got to try snacks and sweets as well as create their own Rangolli patterns.
The Students in G4.2 had an incredible, interesting and intriguing International Day 2016. After seeing some amazing acts from the High School Students, they then participated in 4 workshops. Each workshop was set up and run by the HS students. The students got to take part in an Indian workshop, Musical workshop, Indonesian workshop and a Spanish workshop.
The students in G4.2 spent the day looking at De Bonos Thinking Hats and how they can help us to think in different ways. The students then connected their new understandings about this to our current Unit of Inquiry. They made connections between each of the thinking hats and what it means to be a RESPONSIBLE CONSUMER. They shared their perspectives with their peers and formed discussion groups surrounding the big question: What does it mean to be a responsible CONSUMER?

Ms Rehu spent Monday and Tuesday afternoon taking the Grade 4 students through a Math Inquiry. She demonstrated what it should look like, sound like and feel like. The students in Grade 4 had to decide on a question they wanted to inquire into and by using the Data Handling process work through systematically and creatively to show the process of their thinking. The students worked in peers and had the opportunity to give and receive feedback too. Part 3 of the Inquiry will continue this Friday.
