The students in Grade 3 and 4 were lucky enough to have participated in an Authors Visit workshop. Blair Reeve is a New Zealand children's author who is currently living in Hong Kong. He has spent the last 2 years writing children's poetry and stories and is now promoting his books. Blair likes to write in rhyme and with the use of really difficult words.
Last Friday, we said Goodbye to our teacher trainee. Mrs Mohan was with us for the past 4 weeks and taught us lots of things in Math, Literacy and in our U.O.I We want to say a very big THANK YOU to her for showing us that learning about GOVERNMENTS helps us to understand how and why countries are structured the way they are and how decisions effect the way people think and behave. Good luck back in Australia!
On Friday 16th September, the students in the ES spent the day at Clementi Stadium taking part in the annual Sports Day. They took part in the Javelin throw, Shot put and Running Events. The students showed they were enthusiastic, motivated and committed to their sporting events. A big Thank you to Mr Nathan for organizing such a great event!!!
On Tuesday, Grade 4 shared their math learning with their Grade 1 buddies. They explained to their buddies what a Math Word problem is, ways to solve them and how to write a super duper Math Word Problem. The G1 students then had the opportunity to practice with some examples and show what they had learnt. I guess Ms Rehu is not the only teacher in the room!
Last Friday the students at ISS participated in a school FUN RUN. They had to run around the field and try to complete as many laps as possible in a given time. Each lap they completed they were awarded 1 house point. These house points were tallied up and went towards their house teams total points. Which house ran the most laps??? We will find out this Friday at Assembly.
