Grade 4 went to Onsight Climbing to participate in some thrilling obstacles and some daring climbs. They learnt how to use their body to gain momentum when climbing, the different muscle groups that are involved in climbing as well as how to combine strength and flexibility when reaching for the different stepping stones. They all did an exceptional job of trying news things and challenging themselves!!!
Grade 4.2 spent the afternoon experimenting with a new google app "Google Expedition". Each student was able to experience a virtual field trip. Each student held up a device with a cardboard eye-piece attached and they were immersed into a 360° environment that they can look around. The students had a BLAST!!!!
What a fantastic guest speaker!!! Mrs Cabraal's son's, Hemaan came into school to speak to us about the life of an athlete. Hemaan swims for Team Singapore and has competed in many major world swimming competitions. He spoke about the importance of the body systems and how they connect to the brain. He also spoke to the students about whats needed to maintain the major body systems and the consequences of not looking after them. He showed the students ways in which they can work on reaction time in sport which connects to the nervous system and also spoke about the process of becoming a professional athlete.
Ms Rehu comes from the land of the long white cloud, home of the hobbits and the World Champion Rugby Team "The All Blacks" . She enjoys rugby, dancing and traveling. She is excited to be part of the Grade 4 team and the ISS Community.
